Warming up...

And they're off...

Following our first SOAR behavior incentive this year, the FW students earned an extra recess today.  To make things a little more interesting, a dance party was thrown in the mix. So much fun!

Student Council had another successful food drive for the Burlington Food Pantry and we are grateful for the support of our FW families!  Twelve boxes of canned goods and non-perishable items were collected.  To celebrate, students in each grade wore a special color.  Here's Grade 3 showing off their blue.

We were honored to be joined by 5 local veterans all related to students or staff.  Levi DiFranza, David Nelson, Saul Portillo, Daniel Thornell, and Sean Henrikson took time out of their busy schedules to be part of this celebration. FW students sang patriotic songs, honored the flag, thanked the veterans, and listened to Taps, played on the trumpet by Mrs. Gendron A huge thank you to Mrs. Peabody and Mrs. Samuels, our music teachers, for helping to put this ceremony together.  From our Francis Wyman family, "thank you" to all our veterans for serving our country and keeping us safe!

Thank you Mr. Moriya & Harvard Pilgrim Health Care
Francis Wyman School was honored to receive a $500 grant from Harvard Pilgrim Health Care last week.  Mr. Arif Moriya (FWS parent)  has nominated us for this award for two years.  Since we are in the beginning stages of updating our library/media center into a learning commons, the funds will be used to supply new materials for all students using this space. Mrs. Ardizzoni and Ms. Carney are seen here proudly accepting the grant.

Continuing our Fall celebration, Mr. Doiron, our new Assistant Principal, engaged these students in an integrated literacy/math activity.  He shared the story Five Little Pumpkins with all our Kindergarten students over the past week.  Thanks Mr. D!

Looking for Veterans

Francis Wyman School is putting together a small Veteran's Day ceremony for November 9th at 9:15am.  We would like to honor some local veterans and are wondering if there are some veterans who are connected to our own FW families.  Would you happen to have any veterans in your life? Please let us know!  Call Mrs. Conley in the main office at 781-273-7613.  Thank you!
