Weekly Bulletin June 29, 2017

 Dates to Remember
First Day of School for grades 1 - 5 - September 5, 2017
First Day of School for Kindergarten - September 11, 2017

We hope you are all enjoying your summer vacation already!  The final 2016-2017 issue of the Falcon Times is ready for your review.  Click here to check it out.

We all enjoyed a school-wide SOAR Award on Wednesday... Hawaiian Beach Day
SOAR Coupons were earned and the mystery puzzle was revealed! Students had the opportunity to participate in a school spirit day and were treated to ice cream during their lunch break!

Burlington Education Foundation STAR Awards presented to Gail Sheehan, retiring after 23 years of service to the Burlington Public Schools!

Ms. Colleen Small, Second Grade teacher...

And Mr. Todd Stead and Karen McIntyre, Fourth Grade teachers...
Congratulations to all our teachers and staff here at Francis Wyman.  We are lucky to have such a dynamic, dedicated group of professionals working with our students.  I hope you all enjoy a relaxing and rewarding summer vacation - it is well deserved!

Final SOAR Assembly
Perfect Attendance award winners!  0 absences, 0 tardies, 0 dismissals - AMAZING!

Mr. Levin presented Matthew & Shreya with the newly established Levin Library Award for their passion for reading and love of literature.  Congratulations to these 5th graders & thanks to Mr. Levin for joining us to present this award!

Students were nominated by staff members in all grade levels and across all subject areas to receive awards for demonstrating Self-Control, Outstanding Effort, Acts of Kindness and Respect.  Congratulations to all our award winners and a shout out to all our Francis Wyman students that work hard each and every day to demonstrate our school's values!  You make our school an amazing place to work and learn!

Our last hurrah!  Francis Wyman staff participated in the end of the year tricycle relay race.  Representing the teams S, O, A, and R teachers quickly pedaled or pushed their trikes as cheering students encouraged them from around the gym.  Bragging rights were at stake and the competition was fierce, but emerging victorious was the S team (who says shorter legs can't be an advantage)!  It was a fun way to end a great year and usher in the summer vacation.

Thank you Cub Scout Pack 105
A great big "thank you" to Mrs. Lynch and Mrs. Davidson, whose Cub Scout Pack took the time last week to present new American flags to each of our elementary schools here in Burlington.  This dedicated group of young men found a way to give back to their community and their efforts are greatly appreciated!

I hope you all enjoy your summer and you find time to relax and spend time together doing the things you love to do.  See you in September!
